Stickman Cliff Diving

Name: Stickman Cliff Diving
Platform: iPhone and iPod Touch
Price: $0.99
Rating: 9/10

A friend recommended this game to me and I've been hooked ever since. One of those casual, addictive games you can play while waiting for your bus to arrive. This game is available on the Apple App store for $0.99, check it out here.

The objective of the game is simple: Dive into the water off the cliff and perform whatever stunt the level requires while entering with minimal splash. It is highly recommended to achieve this by holding on to the spin button once. Check out my demonstration of the game here:

Pardon the lousy camera quality. Also pardon the lousy skills.
A quick summary of what I like and dislike about the game.

Likes:
  • Stickman graphics
  • Simplistic design
  • Increasing cliff heights for trickier stunts.
  • Detailed tutorial.
Dislikes:
  • Difficulty in executing perfect dives.
  • Near impossible to beat after level 20.
There really isn't much to dislike about this game. The cutesy graphics and the simplicity of the game make it something for you to while away time. Long wait at the dentist? Bus not arriving yet? Whip out your iPhone or iPod Touch and have a go at this game.

The game controls consists of two buttons. The Jump button, and the Salto button. The former allows you to, well, jump off the cliff. The latter curls your Stickman up and enables him to spin. Through sheer timing, you can execute complex dives and enter the pool either head-first or feet-first to earn points.

After you complete a dive, unseen judges will award you with points. Signs can be seen at the bottom of the screen. After which, the scores are tallied and your final score is given. Should you get a perfect score of all "10s", bonus points are awarded. Should you execute a perfect dive whereby you entered the water at an angle of 0°, you again get bonus points.

The cliffs get higher and higher, to a point where it can reach a hundred meters above sea level. Absurd as that may sound, it gives you more time to time your jumps, for later levels require more spins and higher scores to pass.

I strongly recommend the purchase of this game. At $0.99, it is definitely worth the price. My personal high score is currently set at 9780. Its not much, so do try and beat it. This is something you'll unwittingly find yourself spending hours on because it looks so easy but yet is not.
